Privacy Policy

Hydro Intelligence is a trading name of FrontFoot Group Pty Ltd (ABN 55 670 199 774), operating from Tasmania, Australia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or order a report, how we use it, and who we share it with. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

When you request a Water Snapshot or Water Resource Assessment, we collect:

  • Property information — the parcel boundary you select on the map (or upload as a shapefile), and the property address.
  • Contact details — your name, email address, and phone number, so we can deliver the report and follow up on questions.
  • Payment information — for paid orders, your card details are entered directly into Stripe's checkout. We never see or store full card numbers; we receive only a confirmation that the payment succeeded and the last four digits.
  • Technical data — your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used for security (rate limiting, bot detection) and basic analytics.

2. How we use it

  • To generate the report you ordered, including running spatial queries against government datasets and assembling the PDF.
  • To email you the finished report, status updates, and any clarifying questions.
  • To log your order in our internal records (Google Sheets / Drive) for delivery and quality tracking.
  • To detect and prevent abuse — repeated bot submissions, fraudulent payments, or automated scraping.
  • If you opt in, to send occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of third-party services to operate the site. Each receives only the data needed to perform its function:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Your card details are handled directly by Stripe under their privacy policy.
  • Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) — hosts the website, the spatial database, and the report generation pipeline. Data is stored in the australia-southeast1 (Sydney) region.
  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets) — used to send delivery emails and to store your order record and the generated report.
  • Mapbox — provides the satellite basemap used for parcel selection. Mapbox sees the map tiles your browser requests, not your contact details.
  • Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise — protects forms from automated abuse. Subject to Google's privacy policy and terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data retention

We keep your contact details and order records for seven years from the date of order, which aligns with Australian tax and business-record requirements. Property boundaries and report data are retained indefinitely so we can re-issue or update reports on request. You can ask us to delete your contact details at any time (see §6).

5. Security

All traffic to the site is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Stored data is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud. Access to operational systems is limited to FrontFoot Group staff and protected by two-factor authentication. We use server-side rate limiting and reCAPTCHA to deter automated abuse.

6. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your contact details (we may need to retain order records for taxation purposes).
  • Make a complaint to us, or to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner ( oaic.gov.au).

7. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies for security (session integrity, reCAPTCHA) and Stripe's checkout flow. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
